Nature Isn’t Neat Walk & Talk
A walk from Monnow Bridge to Two River Meadow and back taking in various examples of different types of public grassland and management methods. We will explore the Nature Isn’t Neat approach to managing public green spaces, the species that benefit, the machinery needed and public reaction to reduced grass cutting. We will also discuss how we can take this approach further without alienating local residents, and how we can make better use of the grass cuttings. At Two River Meadow we will meet Sarah Sawyer of Wye Valley AONB who will be demonstrating the use of the Austrian Scythe, the ultimate low impact, carbon neutral management of traditional meadows.
