Supermarkets – Are they “green” grocers?

27 June 2023 19:00 - 20:30

Within the UK, supermarkets are in a very powerful position. They are able to influence shopper behaviour and many aspects of the supply chain from farm to fork.

Despite the number of strategic initiatives and high-profile pledges at COP26, supermarkets are often accused of being irresponsible, focused on short term profits and having little or no concern for their impact on the environment.

Drawing upon his career in the food industry, Martin Sutherland will attempt to provide a balanced view on supermarkets’ role in climate change and whether they are “green” grocers.
