We invite you to join us for a screening of the new regen ag, UK-made documentary “Six Inches of Soil” on Earth Day, Monday April 22nd at 17:30, Llanarth Village Hall
This is a story of three new British farmers on the first year of their regenerative farming journey to improve their soil and help transform their business. They are joined by expert regen farmers, like Nichole Masters, providing wisdom and solutions from a growing movement of people who are dedicated to changing the trajectory for food and farming.
The documentary makers haven’t shied away from tackling complex and thorny issues, including exploring the connection between food and health, food poverty and affordability, the important role of animals in the farming system, Britain’s hugely unequal system of land ownership, barriers to
New entrant farmers and whether there is a place for carbon offsetting on farms.
Before the main film screening, there will be a showing of Our Food, Our Future – a new short 15 minute film by Monmouthshire-based filmmaker Florence Browne. Commissioned by local community benefit society Our Food 1200, it explores the challenges facing new growers establishing small-scale regenerative fruit and veg farms in our region.
There will be locally and regeneratively produced food and drinks awaiting you from 17:30 – all included in the ticket price. The films start at 18:00, followed by a Q & A session with local expert on regenerative farming Ben Taylor-Davies aka Regen Ben, sitting alongside Patrick Hannay, Chair of Transition Abergavenny.
Tickets are £12.50 and can be puchased on Eventbrite
