Cycling Infrastructure
Together with MCC (Active Travel), Sustrans, and Welsh Cycling, Bike Friendly Monmouth are working to improve cycling infrastructure. This includes cycle routes, connectivity and bike parking facilities as part of the MCC Cycling Strategy for Monmouthshire.
Initiatives
One of our first initiatives was to lobby for more bike parking in town. After productive consultation with MCC and the Active Travel working group of the Town Council, we are very pleased to say that approval has been granted for a 6-bike covered parking area alongside the public toilets near Monnow Bridge in addition to hoops that will be installed along Monnow Street and Agincourt Square. This represents a vast improvement on current facilities for cyclists. Ride and Park will soon be a reality!
